Janney Technical Center Hosts Girl Scout Troops
Twenty-three Girl Scouts from two troops visited the Janney Technical Center (JTC) for an educational evening of presentations and hands-on demonstrations.
JTC staff gave a chemistry demonstration on solubility, helped the scouts make concrete coasters, displayed our various testing methods, and discussed petrography.
The event was a success, with the scouts all completing the tasks required for their badges. Petrographers, chemists, engineers, materials experts, and administrative professionals volunteered their time to present an engaging program in accordance with the requirements for the coveted Girl Scout Scientific Method badge.
