Matthew P. Carlton

Experience

Joining WJE in 1995, Matthew Carlton has spent his career solving problems for a wide variety of structural and building enclosure systems. He has served as the project manager for numerous projects involving construction and design defects, materials failures, collapses, and aging and deterioration. His work has included evaluation and repair design for concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structures, as well as many types of architectural cladding and waterproofing. Mr. Carlton has worked on commercial and office buildings, low- and high-rise residential, civic and historic buildings, in addition to bridges, stadiums, and civil infrastructure.

Mr. Carlton’s experience with building enclosures has included assessments, peer reviews, and repair designs for windows, curtain walls, stone cladding, brick masonry, precast concrete, stucco, and EIFS, as well as roofing and waterproofing for plazas and below-grade applications. He has also had the opportunity to work on several historic projects, gaining experience with load-bearing masonry, archaic materials, and historic preservation requirements.
