Experience
Bryan Monahan works with a range of investigations of structural, thermal performance, and building envelope failures. These investigations include systems and materials such as glazed curtain walls and windows; masonry; architectural terra cotta; dimension stone, and precast, post-tensioned, and cast-in-place concrete. Mr. Monahan’s experience with structural repairs includes strengthening of conventional and concrete-encased structural steel members, retrofit of precast concrete panel connections, retrofit of timber truss connections, and lateral stabilization for timber frames. His building enclosure commissioning experience includes all phases of the process, including owner performance requirements and design development, peer review of construction documents, functional performance testing, construction observations, and warranty phase documentation.
In addition to working with WJE, Mr. Monahan was a regional manager at Architectural Testing Inc., in its York, PA office. He has given multiple presentations and lectures on building envelope testing, performance, and commissioning for Pennsylvania State University, Bucknell University, Architectural Glass and Metal Association, and Sustainable Roofing Alliance. He has technical training in WUFI (Level I), THERM, and Thermography (Level I), and has received Installation Masters training for Installation of Windows/Doors in Commercial Buildings.
