WJE Staff Assist with Design of Kenyan Girls' School
San Francisco and Washington, D.C. staff recently wrapped up a semester assisting students in a University of Maryland School of Architecture impact design studio. WJE staff met with students throughout the semester to discuss and provide feedback on their designs for a central multiuse structure at the Kakenya Center for Excellence, a girls’ primary boarding school in Enoosaen, Kenya. WJE’s involvement with the studio class originated with a pro bono project providing building enclosure and engineering consulting services for the design of the center.
