Webinar Recording -- SoCal Seismic Retrofit Ordinances: The Simple First Steps Toward Compliance
The 2020 year-end deadline for the first legal milestone with the City of Los Angeles mandatory seismic retrofit ordinance (No.183893) for concrete buildings is fast approaching, but less than 7 percent of the notified property owners have complied with what is a relatively straightforward task. A similar situation is at hand for the City of Santa Monica, where the first legal milestone is due this fall, before the year end.
In this one-hour webinar, WJE expert Conrad Paulson reviews how the notices to retrofit are typically issued, how to find out if your building has been legally notified, and the steps it takes to achieve compliance for the buildings in your care.
By the end of the presentation, you will be able to:
- Identify whether your building is subject to an ordinance
- Achieve compliance with the first mandatory milestone (avoid non-compliance)
- Plan for the remaining milestones for full compliance with an ordinance
- Describe the challenges with each milestone
