Santa Monica Clock Tower Building Wins Preservation Award
The Santa Monica Conservancy has recognized the Santa Monica Clock Tower Building (formerly the Bay Cities Guaranty Building) with its 2024 Preservation Award in the Rehabilitation category.
Constructed in 1929, this twelve-story Art Deco building is a designated local landmark. The concrete exterior and metal cladding exhibited severe deterioration due to intense exposure to ultraviolet light and airborne salt. We provided facade repair services, including an up-close assessment by our Difficult Access Team (DAT), a recommendation report, materials testing, repair drawings and documents in compliance with preservation standards, and construction phase services.
The Conservancy presents its awards to individuals, building owners, and businesses representing exemplary contributions to the preservation of Santa Monica's architectural and cultural heritage.
