Multiple WJE Projects Win ICRI Awards

Three WJE projects have been awarded International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) annual awards and were formally recognized at ICRI's recent convention in Minneapolis: the Ford Assembly Building in Indianapolis, Barbours Cut Terminal Container Wharf in Houston, and the Leamington Building in Oakland.

ICRI conducts an annual program each year to honor and recognize outstanding projects in the concrete repair industry.
 

FORD ASSEMBLY BUILDING

ICRI recently awarded the Ford Assembly Building design in Indianapolis its ICRI Project of the Year Award and the Award of Excellence in the Historic Category. WJE served as the facade restoration consultant for the building's restoration project. The design included detailing of brick, concrete, and terra cotta masonry repairs and the design of gable rebuilding.
 

Barbours Cut Terminal Container Wharf

The Barbours Cut Terminal Container Wharf Expansion design won the ICRI Award of Merit in the Water Structures Category. WJE developed three-dimensional structural models, conducted service life modeling, and performed the condition assessment and structural rehabilitation design of the reinforced concrete wharf in Houston. 

Leamington Building 

ICRI awarded the Leamington Building in Oakland, California, with an ICRI Award of Excellence in the High-Rise Category. As the project’s facade restoration consultant, WJE performed a condition survey of this landmark building’s facade and developed construction documents to repair the original cast stone elements, parged concrete structure, and steel-framed windows. The team also provided subsequent construction services.
