Hypochlorite Trench Project Receives APWA Award
The Arizona Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) has named the Make-Up/Blowndown Structures Hypochlorite Trench Concrete Rebuild project its 2018 Public Works Project of the Year in the Environment Category for Projects Less than $5 Million.
WJE was engaged to develop 100% Construction Document Drawings and Specifications to address the concrete degradation and distress at the Hypochlorite Trenches ta the Palo Verde Generating Station in Tonopah, Arizona. WJE developed three general strategies for rebuilding the Hypochlorite Trenches based on the level and severity of concrete degradation. WJE also provided construction administration services for the work performed by the general contractor and precaster.
