Honolulu Staff Participate in CANstruction
Honolulu staff recently participated in the 17th Annual CANstruction Competition, coordinated by AIA Honolulu. Eight competing teams—led by architects, builders, and engineering professionals—showcased their talents by designing a "Garden of CANsculptures." These giant sculptures were made entirely out of canned goods, themed around climate action and planting the seeds towards a better tomorrow.
CANstruction combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed people in need. All the canned food from the structures was donated to the Hawaii Foodbank at the completion of the event. The WJE team donated a total of 4,032 cans, winning the award for "Most Cans Used" (and donated).
