Webinar Recording: Advances in Ultra-High-Performance Concrete
View a recording of WJE's recent webinar, Advances in Ultra-High-Performance Concrete.
Ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) is an emerging class of concrete characterized by high compressive and tensile strengths, post-cracking ductility, and exceptional durability compared to conventional and high-performance concrete. Because of these exceptional performance characteristics, UHPC has the potential to provide numerous benefits to the construction, transportation, and energy industries.
In this complimentary, one-hour webinar, WJE materials engineers John Lawler and Elizabeth Wagner provide an overview of UHPC—including its constituent materials, mixture proportioning, and production processes—focusing on key differences between UHPC and conventional and high-performance concretes as well as on current and future uses of UHPC in architectural and structural applications.
By the end of the presentation, you will be able to:
- List performance characteristics of UHPC
- Describe key differences between UHPC and conventional concrete as well as the advantages of the former over the latter
- Explain structural and nonstructural applications of UHPC
- Understand recent advances in the development and implementation of UHPC and how they may correspond with your work
