Richard A. Weber

Principal and West Region Director

Experience

Richard Weber joined WJE in 1988 and has investigated hundreds of structures across the United States. He has examined various building problems, performed structural analyses, and designed repairs for commercial, institutional, and residential buildings. Most projects have involved water leakage, deterioration, or collapse of exterior cladding and framing systems. Mr. Weber has explored various cladding systems, including masonry, windows, curtain walls, skylights, terra cotta, glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC), metal panels, and stucco. Mr. Weber has performed and supervised the testing of exterior cladding components based on standards developed by ASTM International and the American Architectural Manufacturers Association, as well as procedures developed for specific projects.

Mr. Weber has authored and coauthored several articles in professional publications related to water leakage testing, repair, and construction detailing. He has also been a lecturer for the University of Wisconsin Department of Professional Development program on the structural design of masonry and at national conventions for the American Institute of Architects, Construction Specifications Institute, and the American Society for Health Care Engineering related to investigation and prevention of moisture problems.
