Experience
Since joining WJE in 1986, Bernhard Wonneberger has broad-based experience in the investigation and repair of buildings and other structures in Hawaii and across the mainland United States. Most of his projects involve deterioration, distress, and failure of building envelope systems that include cladding, roofing, waterproofing, paving, and interior finish materials. Cladding systems have included concrete, stucco, simulated stucco, natural stone, masonry, windows, curtain walls, and skylights.
Mr. Wonneberger also has experience in the investigation and repair of historic architectural structures, construction litigation support related to design and construction. His experience also includes laboratory and field testing of stone, masonry, windows, and various other construction materials and systems based on standards developed by ASTM International and the American Architectural Manufacturers Association, as well as procedures developed for specific projects. Mr. Wonneberger has prepared contract documents, peer reviewed, and observed construction for numerous building envelope repair and renovation projects.
Mr. Wonneberger has authored and coauthored several articles in professional publications that have included durability of natural stone, building facade repairs, and waterproofing.
